Know the warning signs. Kids can be hesitant to share and having good communication can help them feel more comfortable coming to you.
If your student does come to you remain calm and let them speak freely with the information coming to you.
Let them know you are here for them, validate their feelings, and you will help figure it out together.
Gather details and contact school. If the other student who bullies doesn't attend the same school, reach out to see what counseling services they can offer to your affected student.
Practice with them safe ways to handle these situations and when to walk away.
