Integrated Webcam
The student laptops have an integrated webcam at the top of the screen for photo and video needs. Applications such as Zoom, Google Docs, Google Slides, etc. can be "allowed" to tap into this camera, and it can be controlled from within the application itself. This varies between applications, but can usually be done by finding the "insert" feature, choosing "image" and "camera".
Care and Maintenance
Treat the school laptops with care and respect!
Always close your laptop to carry it and carry with two hands.
Do not close your laptop onto pencils, papers, or other items as these can damage the screen and/or the hinges.
Make sure to charge your laptop when not in use.
Always LOG OUT of all applications to make sure your accounts are secure.
Do not eat or drink while using your laptop.
Shut your laptop down each day when you are finished working.
The FCSD Tech Department has set up routine updates. These occur when a district device logs on to the district network. If an update happens overnight when your laptop is shut down, it will likely do an automatic update and restart first thing when you turn it on at school the next morning.
Never spray cleaners onto the laptop. If you need to wipe it off, use a microfiber cloth.
Report any problems to your teacher who can turn in a tech ticket for you.
