Recommended Curriculum for College-Bound Students

4 credits of English
4 credits of Math (minimum of Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II)
4 credits of Social Studies (minimum of Modern World History, Modern American History, and American Government)
4 credits of Science
3 credits of a World Language (minimum of 3 years of the same language or 2 years each of two languages)
1 credit of Fine Arts
1/2 credit of Health
1/2 credit of Physical Education

Summa Cum Laude

4 .0 GPA

Gold robe, hat, tassel, sash, and cord

Magna Cum Laude

3.6-3.999 GPA

The cumulative weighted GPA at the end of the first semester of the senior year will be the time frame used for consideration of Honor's Recognition, Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and the Top Fifteen.

Requirements (must meet 7 of 8)

___ 4 Credits in Math (one higher than Algebra II)

___ 1 additional unit of Science (in addition to the 3 required Science courses)

___ 1 additional Social Studies (in addition to the 3 required Social Studies courses)

___ 3 years of one language or 2 years of 2 different languages

___ 3.5 unweighted cumulative GPA through 1st semester of senior year

___ ACT composite of 27 or higher or SAT total of 1280 or higher

___ Two additional diploma seals (cannot count Honor’s Diploma as one of the seals)

___ Experiential Learning

___ Field Experience

___ Ohio Means Jobs Readiness Seal

___ Portfolio or Work-Based Learning

State of Ohio Honor's Diploma

(Class of 2026 and Beyond)

Student Strength – can be used to replace one of the 8 criteria listed.

___ CCP – 12 credit hours earned (core areas)

___ AP – 3 courses/exams with a score of 3 or higher on the exams

___ CTAG – 12 total credits

___ Apprenticeship / Pre-Apprenticeship

• Must provide evidence of completion or acceptance to the program

___ Work Keys – Score of 6 or higher on all tests

___ ASVAB – Score of 50 or higher on the test

___ Work-Based Learning – 250 total hours

Please note that Graduation with Academic Honors and the State of Ohio Honor's Diploma are two separate FCSD Honor's Recognitions.
Graduation with Academic Honors will be recognized at the graduation ceremony and will also be notated within the graduation commencement program booklet.
The State of Ohio Honor's Diploma will be recognized within the graduation commencement program booklet.
