Over £25,000 raised so far!
Matt Jackson and Tim Ellis visited Moldova 16-20 March 2022, taking aid for Ukrainian refugees and distributing food parcels. Matt and Tim told us about their trip in the Sunday service 27 March. You can hear their talk by following this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cvVKLW6842dn9nAct5rGyd56-UJmi9RK/view?usp=sharing
They described how the Moldovans are struggling to help the Ukrainian refugees, as there is already so much poverty in the country. And yet, Matt and Tim testified to the generosity of the Moldovans and their desire to help more.
Our appeal is ongoing. ECC members have visited Moldova on several occasions since 2022. We want to continue supporting the Baptist Church in Lapusna, together with Pastor Costea, as they help refugees and people in their local communities as well.
Our current project is funding a MINIVAN for the church in Lapusna, enabling them to distribute food to the most vulnerable and needy in their community.

In 2018 two of our church members, Chris and Debbie Carter, went with BMS World Mission to Tirana, Albania, where they spent 3 years teaching. They sent back stories of the Roma people, poor and marginalised in Albanian society. They also sent back stories of hope: Tek Ura is a Christian charity providing practical and spiritual support to communities on the fringes, including physiotherapy for severely disabled children, drop-in spaces for the elderly, homework clubs for children, and community events. As a church, we are following their activities with interest, and supporting them regularly. Read about about Tek Ura's work HERE
REFUGEE APPEAL - September 2021
Tek Ura started working with refugees in summer 2021, with the arrival of refugees from Afghanistan. We responded to their appeal to help supply traumatised families with food, shelter and sanitary items. In September 2021 we were able to send £1,700 to Tek Ura. Since then, Tek Ura have received permission from the Albanian government to support refugees from Afghanistan, Ukraine, and other countries, on an ongoing basis. If you would like to know more about their work with refugees, CLICK HERE. You can support their work by giving via their website, or through ECC. Just label your donation 'Tek Ura'. Thank you!
Home Mission is all about helping Baptist churches and individuals to reach their mission potential and bring the love of God to their communities.
This happens through Grants given to support a variety of ministries in and through Baptist churches and chaplains across the country. It also enables all our churches and ministers to be supported and helped through the work of the Regional Associations and the specialist teams in Didcot.
Exwick Community Church was started in 1993 with a generous grant from Home Mission.
As a part of the Baptist Union we are now able to fund in a small way some of this work. Please contact us if you would like to know more about this vital outreach work.
As a church, we regularly support BMS World Mission, working in around 30 countries on four continents. BMS workers and partners strive every day to make Jesus known and share the full life he brings. From legal work to surgery, food projects to education, BMS works with local partners, providing help where it is most needed, among the most marginalised and least evangelised people in the world.
