Our Leadership Team are appointed by the church to oversee our vision. They are: Peter Fowler, Pastor; Marie Langdon, Treasurer; Matt Jackson, Secretary; Chris Carter, Michael Emerton, Martin Cronin and Harri Sharp.
ECC works in partnership with various organisations like YMCA Exeter, Linking Lives, CAP, and Wellbeing Exeter to support our local Exwick Community. We currently have three Community Workers. They are Chris Carter, Debbie Carter, and Harri Sharp. They can be contacted using their emails below.

Peter was called by ECC to be their part time pastor at the beginning of 2018. From the beginning of 2019, he has been the Full Time Pastor at ECC.
Peter was born in Plymouth and has lived in Devon all his life. He is married to Chela, a physiotherapist and they have three daughters and a granddaughter. He came to Christ through going to a summer camp at the age of eleven and continues his involvement with camps as a trustee for the Menadue Camps in North Cornwall.
For around fifteen years Peter was involved in business, both in the soft drinks industry and property development. In 2010 he started undertaking a course of studies at Spurgeon’s College London and in 2013 was called by St Thomas Baptist Church, Exeter, to be their associate minister.
Building bridges and developing relationships with the local community are his passion.
Marie is from Exeter and joined Exwick Community Church in 1993 at the age of 15. She has been involved in children's and youth work since then, and loves working with young people.
Marie works at the RD&E where she heads up the Cash Management Team.
In her spare time Marie loves to cook and research family history. Marie has been married to Nick since 2005.
On the Leadership Team, Marie is involved with the young people's leadership and with supporting the financial administration of the Church. Marie is also one of the church’s safeguarding leads.
My name is Matt. My family and I have been attending Exwick Community Church since 2021. We have loved our time here and it is great to be a part of a welcoming family church with a heart for the local community. I am blessed to be able to serve in mission work in both Romania and Moldova, and am excited to see how God can use us to serve him in the future.
Martin and his wife Karen and 2 adult children have lived in Exeter since 2003. Having originally trained as a primary school teacher, Martin has worked with YWAM UK and several different churches. Martin has recently retired after 20 years running an accountancy and bookkeeping practice with his wife Karen, specialising in supporting churches and local charities. He has now set up a coaching, mentoring and spiritual direction service for Christian leaders and believers across SW England. Details can be found at www.rebuildrestorerenew.life.
Alongside his love of cricket and football, he enjoys reading.
Martin loves teaching the Bible and jointly leads the prayer team at Exwick Community Church.
Harri lives and works in Exwick. She has worshipped at ECC since moving to Exeter in 1997. Harri has a passion for children; at ECC she is part of the Sunday morning children's work team and during the week manages The Exwick Ark Limited, which consists of the Exwick Ark Nursery, The Ark at Tresillian and The Ark at Avanti Kindergarten and Out of School club, with her friend Paula.
One day a week Harri works as a Young Families worker in Exwick. Harri is on the Exwick Messy Church team and Friday Friendship team.
Harri has been a Director on the board of South West Youth Ministries since 2002, has been on the Exwick Parish Hall committee nearly as long, and is married to Trevor. They have 3 grown up children. They have a dog called Suki.
Chris started working for ECC as a Community Worker through Exeter YMCA in October 2020. Prior to that he worked as a secondary music teacher, including thirteen years at West Exe Technology College. Music remains one of his main passions, along with sport and spending time with his grandchildren.
He recently spent two and a half years volunteering along with Debbie, his wife, teaching in an International Christian School in Tirana, Albania – a thoroughly enriching experience.
Michael first came to Exeter as a student in 2001 and started attending ECC soon after. He has been able to serve in different ways at the church including previous terms on the Leadership Team, children's and youth work, preaching and Messy Church.
Michael is married to Sarah and has two young children. He works in Exeter as an IT Manager in the Education sector.
In his spare time, Michael enjoys spending time with family, baking, cycling and enjoying the amazing scenery that the South West has to offer!
Debbie moved to Exeter in 1999 with her husband, Chris, and their three children. She served as a governor and also taught Science in Exeter schools before moving to Tirana, Albania in 2017 with Chris.
She taught at an International Christian School there, until June of 2020. She has been a member of Exwick Community Church for over 20 years and became a community worker for ECC in October 2020. She loves working in the Exwick community and especially enjoys her work with children.
In her spare time, Debbie loves gardening, cycling around the beautiful Devon countryside and spending time with her 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
Sandy heads up the day to day management of our church. She has been at ECC since its beginning in 1993. She originally comes from California but has been living in Exeter since 1987 and considers the people at ECC to be her spiritual family.
Sandy also plays guitar in Sunday services and is part of the preaching team. She and her husband, Graeme, who heads up the worship team, have two adult sons, a daughter-in-law and three grandchildren.
Sandy also teaches English to international students and is the author of "Steps Toward", a devotional series exploring different themes in down-to-earth ways.

Graeme is responsible for coordinating the Worship Team and plan services under the direction of the Leadership Team. He has also been at ECC since its beginning in 1993. Originally from the East End of London, Graeme has lived most of his life in Devon and feels he has become a naturalised Devonian after over 50 years of residence!
Graeme is both a keyboard player and organist and has been involved in musical worship since becoming a Christian at University in 1983. He is married to Sandy.
Graeme works as a Project Manager for the London Stock Exchange and is a qualified solicitor with 18 years experience working in Child Care and Family Law. He enjoys Scottish Country Dancing and spending time with his grandchildren.
