Sophomore Year
Attend Tulare County College night in September. Representatives from over 90 colleges are in attendance to give you information regarding their schools and programs. Get your questions answered from admission counselors. www.tcoe.org/collegenight
Start a college folder to keep all of your information organized. (testing, college, scholarship, research information, etc.)
Stay involved! Colleges are looking for “well rounded” students who can balance academics and involvement and involvement in extracurricular activities.
If you are interested in playing sports at the college level, it is recommended that you register with the NCAA (https://web3.ncaa.org) before the end of your sophomore year.
Create a list of colleges that you’re interested in. If a personal visit to the campus is not possible, youvisit.com is a wonderful resources for virtual tours online. College websites also are very informative!
Ask questions! There is a lot of information to know, make sure you are asking!
Apply for CSF (California Scholarship Federation) if you are eligible.
