Devon Healthcare Hub Study Guide

About the Devon Healthcare Hub (DHH).

The DHH is an outreach programme of the University of Exeter Medical School. The hub will deliver sustained and targeted support for disadvantaged pupils whose current educational attainment would prohibit their entry to Medical School. Participating pupils from schools across Devon attend interactive practical sessions at the University. The teaching sessions will be tailored to  A Level Chemistry and Biology topics.

Sessions Structure

DHH involves active learning where students are asked to engage in activities that require them to think about what they are doing, rather than passively receiving information. The sessions are structured so that topics are embedded in a clinical context. The topics integrate with each other - We teach using tools such as interactive PowerPoint presentations, wet lab experiments, dissections, hands-on demonstrations with clinical examination kit and different types of quizzes or problem solving activities.
