Learning outcomes

• This session is meant to introduce you to an important style of teaching used in universities: problem based learning. 
• Through exploration of a case you will learn about the genetic causes of diabetes.

Activities

• You will follow a shortened version of the problem based learning steps outlined below. 
• In small groups you will read and explore a case with a facilitator.
• You will explore what you already know about the topic, identify key areas you would like to know more about,  research answers to these using the materials provided and then discuss your answers.
