A Word on Nutrition
Nutrition for building muscle is a broad topic that I cannot fully cover in this resource. However I will give a brief overview.
To build muscle we need energy. This usually is going to come from either food, or our reserve stores (body fat).
You may have heard the terms Bulking and cutting.
Bulking means eating in a caloric surplus (more calories than you are using)
Cutting is eating in a caloric deficit (less calories than you are using)
So is one better than the other for muscle growth? Well it depends. It is possible to build muscle in both scenarios.
Bulking is more ideal to build muscle as you have excess energy. This would be ideal for someone skinny who's sole goal is to build muscle.
But for someone who is overweight and wants to build muscle and lose fat, bulking is not ideal as you want to be in a calorie deficit to lose fat. In this scenario cutting would be more appropriate.
