A representative from Purdue University-West Lafayette will be at New Tech on today at 9:15 a.m. for seniors interested in hearing more about Purdue. Listen for the intercom announcement.
Tutoring is available!
Math Tutoring with Math teachers happens every Tuesday from 2:15 - 3:00 p.m. in rooms 27, 28, and 29. Peer tutoring from students happens every Monday - Thursday from 2:15 - 3:00 p.m. in the office. Please complete this form if you need tutoring on Mondays - Thursdays. Also, if you'd like to serve as a tutor, please see/email Mr. Gibson.
Student Council is meeting on Friday mornings in the hallway intersection near the office, 7:00-7:30, to sell healthy snacks as a fundraiser for Riley Hospital for Children. Student Council exists to raise money and collect donations for charitable organizations, and it is not the same group as the student government. If you would like to join the Student Council, please let Mrs. Bowden know. New Tech continues to be a Red Wagon Booster School for Riley Hospital, thanks to all of your support with our fundraisers! Sales are cash-only.
Robotics Parent/Guardian Kickoff Meeting is tonight, 6-7 pm.

Want to make a change in our community—or even the world? The ChangeMaker Club is the perfect place to start! Whether you’re passionate about social justice, sustainability, innovation, or helping others, this is your opportunity to turn ideas into action. This club will assist you in developing your idea/pitch to be entered into a competition at the University of Evansville. Who won two years ago?---New Tech Institute. Our two student competitors are now attending UE with a full-ride, renewable four-year scholarship. Our first meeting will be after school in room 18, starting September 8.
Opportunities for Student Growth and Enrichment
The Indiana Legislative Youth Advisory Council is accepting applications through October 14. ILYAC is a prestigious opportunity for students ages 16-21 to advise the Indiana General Assembly on issues affecting youth. See Mr. Gibson for more details.

All students eat lunch in the cafeteria - due to supervision, students can't eat lunch in classrooms.
Class dismissal: The teacher dismisses classes each period (not the bell or the clock).
The auditorium, gym, upstairs, and basement are not accessible without the supervision of a staff member - this policy applies before, during, and after school. All students must be supervised by an adult at all times.
* Blankets are not included in the "cool weather items" listed in the dress code - thank you in advance for keeping blankets at home. Let the office know if you need a hoodie or sweatshirt if you get cold in class.
* Please pick up trash in the hallways and cafeteria - do your part to keep our school clean.
* The faculty restroom and the teacher workroom are for staff members only; students are not allowed in these areas.
* Before hanging flyers in the hallways, please get permission from the office...we need to make sure we aren't using tape that will peel off our new paint.
