Thunderbolt Eligibility Criteria
EVSC High School Student Eligibility System for 2025-2026
The Student Eligibility System fosters personal accountability, consistent attendance, and academic effort. It upholds the values of responsibility, respect, and engagement within the school community. By meeting these criteria, students demonstrate their readiness to serve as positive role models in leadership roles and public-facing events.
The Thunderbolt Eligibility requirements are necessary for participation in the following New Tech High School extracurricular activities:
School Dances, including Winter Dance and Prom
Class Officers
Student Council Membership
To participate and/or serve in the above positions, a student must meet the Thunderbolt Eligibility requirements for the entire semester. A student’s Thunderbolt Eligibility status is reinstated on the first day of each semester.
Students can meet their Thunderbolt Eligibility by:
Having zero Out-of-School Suspensions (or an Expulsion)
Having no more than two full days of AEA
Having no more than 10 days of absences, regardless of reason, in a semester (except for field trips)
Having no more than 25 lates to class in a semester
Passing 5 of 7 classes from the last grading period (70% of classes for those who do not take 7)
Thunderbolt Eligibility status may be restored or revoked by the principal and/or designee for justifiable reasons. Current and previous semesters may be used depending on the time of the event.
