ASB Stickers are Here!

Purchased ASB stickers are ready! Students can bring their student IDs to the ASB window to pick up their sticker before school, during lunch or after school. If you haven’t already purchased the ASB sticker, it's not too late! You can purchase either online or in person at the ASB window.

Fall Conferences 

Shahala Middle School will be hosting Fall Conferences this year on October 20 & 22. These days are early release days for students to allow for time for teachers to conference with families. Students should attend conferences with their parents or guardians. Conferences will be held in the round which means that all teachers will be available during all conference times and parents and students can drop-in to talk to any and all of their current teachers.

Fall Conferences in the Round:  Drop-in Event

• October 20, from 2:00-4:00 pm

• October 22, from 2:00-4:00 pm

• October 22, from 5:00-7:00 pm

We look forward to seeing you at conferences and greatly appreciate your partnership in your student’s education!

*If you are not able to come during the conference times above, but you would like a focused, problem solving conference with a specific teacher(s), please email that teacher(s) to schedule a meeting time outside of our planned conference times (listed above).

Missing Items? Have Your Student Check the Lost & Found!

Our lost and found is already filling up! If your student is missing anything, please have them check the Lost & Found, located by the “self service” table in the main hall. Clothing, backpacks, lunch bags, shoes and water bottles are kept out on display in the main hall while more fragile items and those of greater value (phones, watches, glasses, etc.) are kept secure in the front office. Lost and found items that are not claimed after an extended period of time will be donated.

East Coast Trip Information

Have you heard about the really great East Coast Trip that takes 8th graders to the East Coast in June? Are you interested in learning more? Come to our informational meeting Wednesday September 30th at 6pm in the Shahala Library. We will discuss the exciting places and experiences that await you in Washington DC, Pennsylvania, and New York City! There is no commitment involved if you come, we are just there to introduce you to the travel opportunity and answer any questions you may have.

World Language Proficiency Exam

Your student(s) heard a presentation recently about a great opportunity for 7th and 8th graders who are multilingual. Shahala will be offering and proctoring a World Language Proficiency Exam in late November or early December. Students who pass the test can earn high school credits in a second (or more) non-English language. In order to pass the test, students will need to show proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the alternate language. 26-27 Fall Family Preview Nights for Comprehensive Sexual Health Education
