Free Breakfast and Lunch Will Be Available for Children During the Summer

Evergreen Community,

We’re pleased to announce that we will again be able to offer children free meals during the summer through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) for 2024. Children ages 1 to 18, regardless of if they attend Evergreen Public Schools, are eligible to receive one breakfast and one lunch per day when meal sites are open.

The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Under USDA requirements, meals should be consumed on site.

The sites and dates for SFSP meals:

If you have questions about the sites above, please contact Katelyn Scobba, EPS Child Nutrition Services Coordinator, at katelyn.scobba@evergreenps.org or 360-604-4021.

In addition to EPS sites, free summer meals for children will be at these community locations:

New Summer Benefit Available to Help Qualified Families Purchase Food

This summer, a new federal program will be available to help families buy food and offset rising food costs. Families that qualify for the Summer EBT program, as determined by income, will be eligible for a one-time $120 payment per student.

If your student is enrolled in Evergreen Public Schools and has an approved benefit on file with EPS Child Nutrition Services, you automatically qualify for the program. You will be eligible if you are certified for benefits through the DSHS (Washington State Department of Social and Health Services) or family income survey, or have an approved Summer EBT application

If you have questions about eligibility, please email  Nutrition.services@evergreenps.org or call 360-604-4034.

The payment is issued directly by DSHS (in partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture) through SUN Bucks cards. EPS does not handle distribution. More information is available on the SUN Bucks webpage
