HeLa School-Wide policy:
Phone Policy: Our classrooms will be a device-free zone. What that means is that students cannot have devices out during class time. The purpose is to minimize our distractions and keep us engaged in the learning process for the entire class and to grow relationships within our community. To reach your student during the school day, please call the main office at (360) 604-6340.
Electronic devices are off and away during class time, bell to bell. Electronic devices include but are not limited to: cell phone and gaming systems.
Students will be prompted at the very beginning of each class to turn their cell phones off and put them away. The teacher reserves the right to remove the cell phone to a secure place until the end of the day if the student is able to keep their cell phones off and away. If a student refuses to place their cell phone/electronic device in the designated area, the student will be reported for defiance and a meeting will follow. Repeated offenses will follow the discipline matrix.
Telecommunication devices/Cell phones may be used during breakfast, passing time and lunch. Cell phone usage during instructional time will be used under the direction of the classroom teacher and based on individual teacher classroom respect agreement policies made in collaboration with students. Students will be expected to adhere to classroom agreements.
