Transportation

Buses:

Buses will pick students up from their neighborhood bus stop and take them to HeLa. In  addition, each of the other high schools will have buses for HeLa students. They can go to their  neighborhood high school in the morning to be picked up and come to HeLa and can take that  same bus after school. For students participating in sports at their neighborhood school, this  bus will get them to each high school for their athletic activities.

All students who attend Henrietta Lacks High School can sign up for school bus transportation to and from school by calling transportation at (360)-604-4950 to sign up.

Parking:

Evergreen School District has an agreement with the City of Vancouver, Peace Health Hospital and the neighborhood association, that prohibits students from parking on neighborhood streets or hospital lots/garages without a parking permit. We have been approved to offer a limited number of students experiencing extenuating circumstances the opportunity to drive and park on campus.

Please understand that due to a limited number of spaces, we have to restrict parking permits this year to students who demonstrate a need that can’t be met through school or public transportation. We are hopeful that next year (2023-24) we will be able to increase the number of parking permits we can offer to accommodate student preference as well as student need.

Students attending Henrietta Lacks High School who demonstrate a NEED to park on campus will be considered for issuance of a parking permit. Please only apply for a parking permit if you are at least 16 years of age and have a valid driver’s license (a driver’s permit will not be accepted) and meet at least one of the following criteria (Juniors and Seniors will be given first priority):

Parking is open for application on the following dates by grade and on a first come, first serve basis for:

Seniors and Juniors August 19 - 23, 2022

Sophomores August 24 - 26, 2022

Process for Students to Apply for On Campus/Off Campus Permits can be found on our website
