New Program: Securly Classroom - Hapara Replacement
We are excited to announce the transition to Securly Classroom as our new digital classroom management tool, replacing Hapara. This transition provides the district the opportunity to consolidate our current range of products and services at a savings to the district. We will be consolidating Hapara classroom management and our Lightspeed web filtering to a platform we are already using for online student safety called Securly.
Securly Classroom has many of the features that are available in Hapara and offers an enhanced suite of features designed to provide a safer, more efficient, and engaging learning environment for both students and educators. Securly Classroom allows teachers to see what students are doing on their devices, push websites and resources in an instant, lock student devices down to get the class's attention and lots more!
For more information about the Securly Classroom’s features and training resources please see the Smore Newsletter at the link below.

New Program: ParentSquare - School Messenger Replacement
EPS Communities,
We’re pleased to share with you that we are switching to a new communication platform for the 2024-25 school year. ParentSquare will give you more flexibility and functionality in how you receive messages from your child’s school and the district.
You will automatically be signed up for an account using your preferred email account and phone number. You will also have the option to use a smartphone app for all your school communications. The platform will let you communicate directly with teachers and staff and let you choose if you want to receive messages as they are sent, or in one daily bundle at 6 p.m.
To learn more about the platform, please visit our ParentSquare webpage.

Middle/High School:
Canvas is the dedicated learning management platform for secondary schools to use with students. Families have Observer accounts created for them and are automatically connected to their student(s), thanks to our IT team.
Reminder: New courses are automatically created each term (Nov. 23rd for MS, Jan. 24th for HS). Content from previous Canvas courses can be copied to the new courses. See "Starting a New Term in Canvas" for directions.
Elementary:
Every month, Seesaw features new, timely collections in the Seesaw Library. This month’s featured collections are: The First Days of School (lessons centered around introducing and reinforcing classroom procedures, reviewing concepts, and diving into learning), Getting Started with Seesaw (simple and fun activities to introduce students to Seesaw tools they will use all year), and Community Builders (lessons that help to foster a positive classroom culture of valuing teamwork, understanding, and inclusivity).
Technology Platform Updates:
For student engagement tools, we suggest Seesaw (K-5) and Canvas (6-12).
Within Canvas, using Student Annotation tools or creating a poll/survey provide engagement opportunities as well.
Using Creative Tools in Seesaw provide production resources for students to create, narrate, and share their work with teachers and families.
Canva for Education is an excellent resource for creating flyers, designing graphics, and using AI tools to boost creativity. See this month's newsletter for updates.
This school year, we are implementing a series of innovative technology tools and resources designed to empower our staff, students, and families in the teaching and learning process. These ever-expanding resources will streamline administrative tasks, enhance communication and collaboration, and provide valuable resources for professional development.
The resources shared below aim to create a more efficient and engaging learning environment for both our educators and students. You will find suggested resources to utilize, including some that are in place of previous programs/subscriptions due to the budget constraints last year. Our goal is to optimize our resources and ensure the sustainability of our digital initiatives.
We invite you to view resources on our Digital Learning website as well as contact us @ digitallearning@evergreenps.org for support. Upon review, use this feedback form to capture any questions or support needed regarding these updates.
