Anyone in grade 8 at an Everett school!
The SEED Pathway is open to all students who are interested in solving problems and collaborating with others. Because of the curriculum rigor, attendance is crucial for success.
No! It helps to have a strong foundation in math, but that's why we start with Algebra 1. As long as you are ready to work hard, you will be successful.
We don't look at your grades! High school is a fresh start for everyone! We have worked with students who were very disengaged in middle school, but were really interested in engineering and willing to work hard.
It happens and we won't take it personally. We ask students to commit to two years in the program before switching out. However, if you are really unhappy or there are other issues, we will make special considerations.
Nope! You no longer need a teacher recommendation to apply to the SEED Pathway. We will reach out to your current teachers to learn more about you.
We use a lottery system. Students with complete applications will be given a number. Numbers will be randomly chosen until all spots are filled. If your number is not picked, you will be placed on a waitlist.
Yes. We redesigned Algebra 1 to Accelerated Algebra 1. This course covers all the topics in traditional Algebra 1 plus half the topics in traditional Algebra 2. There is a significant amount of material covered in this class that you have not learned yet. However, if you are really concerned about this don't let it be a deal breaker, email Dr. Seiders at aseiders@everett.k12.ma.us and she will make sure you are in the correct class.
Yes! We have had many students complete both the STEM Academy and the Health Academy! You can 100% do both, it's a challenge, but possible. Just let us know that you are interested in it!
Yep! It happens all the time! Just tell us what you want to do and we will do everything in our power to make it possible for you! Sometimes our schedules are really challenging to arrange, but we will do whatever it takes!
No problem! Just email us at aseiders@everett.k12.ma.us!
