In a recent survey, 74% of agencies requested this ... so we've negotiated to give you free access to the Goodwings hotel-booking platform. Enjoy!
Hotels create a huge carbon footprint. For every guest-night booked, Goodwings automatically donates money to an Evaneos-approved carbon reduction project.
30% of each night's booking commission is donated to an award-winning nonprofit fighting plastic pollution in our oceans (this comes out of Goodwings' profit, not yours).
There is no need to talk to travelers about Goodwings; but you should definitely explain how your hotel reservations are preventing climate change and keeping the oceans plastic-free! Here's some sample text to help:
We know many local agencies book stays directly with their favourite accommodations and often have personally negotiated rates and payment terms. We also know that booking through a platform like Goodwings.com doesn't necessarily fit with our "local-made" philosophy ...
That being said, we think booking through Goodwings.com is better for travelers and better for the world than making a reservation with Booking.com. So if you're already using Booking.com, we hope you'll switch to Goodwings.com ♡
No! The hotels you find on Goodwings ARE NOT specially chosen eco-hotels; they are exactly the same hotels that you can find advertised on Expeidia.com and Hotels.com. What makes booking through Goodwings "greener" is that fact that they automatically buy certified carbon-offsets and donate to a plastic-free-ocean charity for each hotel-night booked.
No. Goodwings will provide you with a payment receipt (PDF attachment) when you make a payment, but this is not an official invoice and does not show VAT. This is the same as any-other hotel booking-platform (like booking.com). Typically you should be able to request an official VAT invoice directly from the hotel, however please note that Goodwings cannot guarantee that the hotel will provide you with a VAT invoice.
You will see that payment terms vary depending on the hotel and the rate that you choose. Some hotels / rates require immediate payment at the time of booking. Others allow you to pay later (up until the time of check-in). However, you will see that typically to benefit from the deepest B2B discounts, you will always need to "pay now."
Once your booking is confirmed, Goodwings will email you a booking confirmation. Please note, the confirmation email from Goodwings will also include the price you have paid for the hotel, so you will not want to forward the entire email to your client. Similarly, it is not important to share the booking confirmation number with you clients as this is a only an internal reference number for Goodwings and is not used by the hotels. Your clients can simply check-in using their first and last name + their ID.
It's also important to note that Goodwings will send the booking confirmation to the email address used when you make the booking. Thus, please do NOT write in your client's email address when making a booking, as this will result in your client receiving the booking confirmation email including the price paid for the hotel.
The payment terms and refund policies vary according to hotel and the terms are displayed on each individual hotel page. Sometimes you will see that the rate you pay varies based on the flexibility of the booking.
If you cancel a booking and are eligible for a refund, you will automatically receive a refund confirmation via email and the money will be reimbursed to the original form of payment (credit card, bank account, etc). The time it takes to receive your refund may vary depending on your bank, credit card company, and/or location.
