Evaneos will measure the "better trips" performance of every DMC by asking travellers specific questions in their after-trip survey and then calculating an Agency Score. DMCs will need to keep their avg. score above a set minimum.
The specific questions and details about how we calculate this score will be reviewed by our "Better Place Committee." Additionally this will be tested and validated by several teams internally at Evaneos.
Below you'll find the first-draft questions and calculation. Please note, we expect this to evolve a lot before we launch it in 2020. If you would like to join the feedback committee, please apply!
By asking the same questions to DMCs and to travellers, we will be able to compare what agencies say they do with what travellers actually experience. This will let us calculate an average Agency Score for each agency. All questions will be answered on a scale from 1 (low) to 5 (high).
Based on traveler responses, we will require all DMCs to maintain a score of 4 or higher. When we see a ≥ 2-point difference between the baseline score (self-reported by an agency) and the real score (calculated from traveler responses), we will help the agency design an improvement plan. In general the baseline score and the average real score should differ by no more than 1 point for a given agency.
