BAND EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES
First year instruments include: flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, baritone and percussion (bell kit and practice pad). I recommend percussionists have 1-2 years of piano proficiency. We ALWAYS need more low brass: trombone and baritone. Saxophone is a 2nd year possibility. I recommend that students with a strong interest in the saxophone start on the clarinet.

Optional, recommended accessories:
•MakeMusic is an amazing home practice program that helps motivate kids and provide extra visual and aural feedback. Kids with MakeMusic will be able to complete pass-offs from home and email them to me, thereby getting more individual feedback. I highly recommend it. I will be providing more info about this program in October, but you can go to smartmusic.com to get a head start.
•Metronome *very important for technique development and rhythmic accuracy. (MakeMusic has this and you can get metronome apps for your device.
•Tuner-helps kids learn how to make intonation adjustments. (MakeMusic has this and/or TE Tuner App is cool)
•Folding music stand-for home practice
