The floral Judging CDE is one of our strongest teams for EHS FFA. The competition consists of two parts; design and knowledge. In the design portion of the competition, students are given 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete 3 different arrangements. They have to design a corsage, a bouquet, and either a floral foam or vase design. These designs are scored based on mechanics, color, design principles, and creativity, with a possible 300 points. The knowledge portion consists of ID, judging, and a written test. The competition requires knowledge of 25 cut flowers, 25 potted plants, and 25 tools. There are 3 judging classes of cut flowers, potted plants, and arrangements. The test consists of 25 questions about floral history, design elements, color, and flower care. The knowledge portion is worth it!!!.
