Next: Watch How Plants Tell Time and do a connect/extend/challenge thinking routine in your notebook

Then: Find your plant evolution timeline on the back table.Check for feedback that I provided on your posters. Make revisions if necessary (10 min). Pass your poster to the right - Get/give feedback. Take five minutes to make observations and give verbal feedback to each other. Make revisions based on peer suggestions.

Do Now: Draw a data table in your notebook (example on the whiteboard) and then label the rows and cells of the seed container on your table. Listen for my instructions on how to do this.

Next: Fill seed containers with soil. Plant 2-3 of your stratified ironweed seeds into each cell of row 1.

Then: we will watch a video on plant root growth  and do a connect/extend/challenge in your notebook

Do Now: Make observations of ironweed germination and document in your notebook

Next: Copy down the following terms and definitions (can also be found on the whiteboard)
Taproot- a thick primary root, with smaller secondary roots growing out from the sides
Fibrous roots- have many small branching roots, but no large primary root
Meristematic cell- an undifferentiated cell that can divide indefinitely
Meristem- a region of meristematic cells
Adventitious roots- roots that arise from unusual places (such as a stem)
