We will be using Class Dojo for individual behavior. Students will receive points for good behaviors, and they will also be deducted points for not making good choices. Points are given and taken based on the teacher's discretion. Point values for the behaviors differ. For an example, when a student is off task, only one point is taken away, but when a student has his or her hands on someone, three points are taken away. You will see descriptions for points be given and taken when you log into Class Dojo. Special teachers also have access to my Class Dojo class, and they will be able to adjust points during their lessons. Class Dojo will tell you which teacher gave and took points. We will be discussing Class Dojo more in depth at Parent/Teacher Night. For more information about Class Dojo, please click here to visit my useful links page.
The students' seats are organized in groups. These groups change every month. To promote teamwork and collaboration, the students will be able to gain Class Dojo points as a table group. Throughout this school year you will see your child given points for a group. The name of the group may seem unique because the students' name their own groups. At the end of the month, the group with the most points will receive a reward. There will be choices given to the group, and the individual students will choose his or her reward.
We have a classroom reward plan using a Mr. Potato Head. The class will work together to obtain Mr. Potato Head pieces. Some ways our class can obtain the pieces is by getting compliments from other adults in the school, working hard and cooperatively as a class, working well for the special teachers, etc. Once the class receives 10 pieces, we will vote for a classroom reward. If the reward allows student to bring something into the classroom, there will be a note sent home.
