Helping your child with German
One of the questions most often asked by parents is, "How can I help my child with German if I do not speak it??"
There are several answers to this question:
- For homework/content concerns, have your child sign up for an AM Support time (daily, 8:00-8:27am). We or a peer tutor will be made available to answer all questions.
- For last minute concerns, have your child show up spontaneously to AM Support (daily, 8:00-8:27am) in our room (E315). As long as we are not working with a student who previously made an appointment, we will be glad to offer assistance.
- If AM Support does not work for your child's or your family's schedule, contact us via email to arrange an after school help time.
- In addition, refer your child to the e-resources below which may offer assistance.
- Lastly, do not assume you can't help your child with German homework before looking at it. Often there are instructions in English you can follow. You can also email us with questions and we can give you guidance within 24-48 hours. If your child lost instructions to a major assignment or project, they can almost always be found electronically in their Google Classroom.
Hope that helps!
