Head's up! The honor society system has changed.
As of the 2025-26 school year, freshmen and sophomores who wish to be a part of Honor Society must complete service in both the first and second semester.
Freshmen must complete 3 hours from summer until end of the first semester and 2 hours from winter break until the deadline in April.
Sophomores must complete 7 hours from summer until end of the first semester and 3 hours from winter break until the deadline in April.
Completed all of your hours in the fall? You still have to do service in the spring to be eligible for Honor Society.
This change was made to in response to a high demand on local organizations to take volunteers in the months of February and March. The rest of the year, these organizations do not feel supported and struggle to find volunteers. By asking students to spread out their service throughout the year, our hope is that these organizations will receive more consistent support. Plus, this is an opportunity for students to practice planning ahead and time management.
How can I find how many hours I already have?
Just like any service, you can log and keep track of service through your SchooLinks profile. You can find more support on how to do this on our Your Service Hours tab.
How can I get more hours?
We have many resources on our website and in our office that can help you find service! Check out the Get Involved tab to check out our calendar and spreadsheet of upcoming events along with a our Community Service Club Google Classroom.
And of course, you can stop by our office in the Hub to find the best opportunity for you!
While we help manage your service transcripts which are used for honor societies, our office does not manage honor societies, but we are happy to connect you to service opportunities! The best folks to reach for question specifically about honor societies are listed below, along with answers to a couple of frequently asked questions about honor societies.
