Emerge is a community of activists, changemakers, and leaders supporting each other to make an impact in Evanston.
Our mission is to:
Build empathy, justice, & community
Foster youth agency & leadership
Develop community-based and responsive projects that address issues that effect us and our neighbors
In this student-driven and -led program, participants drive community change through collaborative partnerships with local community organizations and with each other.
A two year program designed to help make change in Evanston through monthly workshops, community partnerships, and peer mentorship. The first year is dedicated to learning organizing basics and history, building executive functioning skills, and identifying a community partner and issue. The second year consists of developing and implementing a community-based project.
The follow up to Initiative, Sustainers gives students space to continue to refine and expand their projects with support from peer mentors and staff.
