During the Croatian mobility, the students were challenged to design and create their own beach games using materials available in the natural coastal environment. To encourage intercultural cooperation and communication, the students were divided into international teams composed of participants from different partner countries. Working together in mixed groups gave them the opportunity to exchange ideas, practice their English language skills, learn about different cultures, and develop new friendships.
Each team was asked to invent an original game using objects they could find on the beach, such as stones, shells, driftwood, seaweed, sand, or other natural materials. The students first brainstormed ideas, discussed possible rules, and agreed on the objectives of their game. They then worked collaboratively to prepare the materials, organize the playing area, and test their ideas before presenting the final version to the other participants.
The activity promoted creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. It also encouraged students to make use of natural resources in a responsible and sustainable way while demonstrating that enjoyable and educational activities can be created without the need for expensive equipment or technology. Through this hands-on experience, students learned how to cooperate effectively, listen to different perspectives, and contribute their individual strengths to a common goal.
After completing their games, each team introduced its activity to the other participants, explained the rules, and demonstrated how the game should be played. The presentations allowed students to practice their public speaking and communication skills while gaining confidence in sharing their ideas with an international audience.
In the videos below, you can watch the games created and presented by the students. Following the presentations, all participants had the opportunity to try the games designed by the other teams. This was one of the most enjoyable parts of the activity, as students could experience a variety of creative ideas, learn from one another, and engage in friendly interaction. The atmosphere was positive, energetic, and collaborative, reflecting the spirit of the Erasmus+ project and the value of learning through cooperation, creativity, and outdoor experiences.
