Students should use the restroom and get supplies out of backpacks on their own time instead of during instructional time.
Classroom library is closed when there is a substitute, and all books must remain in the classroom.
When assigned a classroom job, perform jobs with pride and to the best of your abilities.
Students must take excellent care of classroom supplies, books, technology, etc.
Damage or loss of classroom items will most likely result in the student(s) having to incur the cost to repair or replace items.
Fastest communication between parents/guardians and teachers takes place using the Parent Portal through Parent Square.

Put away supplies where they belong.
Stand “behind your chair” until dismissed. - This let's us know you are ready to go!
When dismissed - Line up outside in number order until called into your next class.
Assignments must be turned in to the proper place to be considered ‘on time’. It is NOT my responsibility to search for your assignment.
Assignments are place into two weighted categories:
Minor Assignments (40%) - in-class assignments, participation, homework, if assigned, labs, etc.
Major Assignments (60%) - tests, projects, writing assignments, etc.
Late Assignments:
1 day late: 20% deduction.
2 or more days late: 50% deduction.
Accepted until two weeks after due date, and remains a missing assignment.
It remains a missing assignment until it is graded - which is equal to a 0%.
Can take up to two weeks to grade late assignments.
After the 2 week window, no grade is earned and it remains a missing assignment for the quarter.
An assignment is not considered late if the student has an excused absence.
If at any time your child needs more time to complete an assignment, have them let us know. We are open to giving a student more time so they may learn more and produce quality work.
Make-up Assignments:
Students may make up any assignment within 2 weeks of receiving a grade in order to improve their score.
When a student is absent, they have 2 weeks to make up missed assignments in order to earn full credit.
When absent, check the "Assignment Folders" and ASK what you MISSED.
It is YOUR RESPONSIBITY to make up MISSED ASSIGNMENTS
Homework:
Students only have homework if they do not finish their assignments in class due to not using their time wisely.
Academic dishonesty (i.e plagiarism, cheating, copying someone's answers or work, sharing your answers or work, use of AI, etc.) WILL NOT BE TOLERATED under any circumstance
This will result in failure of the assignment, disciplinary referral, and parent contact.
Cell phone (and Smart Watch) use is not allowed during the school day - per District Policy.
Students are required to place their cell phone in the designated area at the front of the classrooms first thing in the morning or keep them in their backpacks. (Smart Watches only need to be removed during testing unless it is in use and/or a distraction).
You are welcome to charge it throughout the day - You must bring a charger.
They can be retrieved as students leave the classroom at the end of the day, and they are not to be used while on school grounds unless they get permission from a staff member under extenuating circumstances.
If a student wants to use their phone, they must ask my permission prior to use. Typically, during theschoolday, if a students wants to contact their parent, I have them call from the office. I do make exceptions after school, especially as there are times when transportation is challenging.
I do not give any reminders regarding this policy other then the first day of school.
When this policy is not followed, the student's cell phone must be brought to the office, and it is at the disgression of Administration whether the cellphone must be picked up by the parent.
Classroom management is based on community, accountability, restorative practices using our House System, along with teaching & supporting students, and working together with parents to encourage students to make choices that are best for them, while following the District’s Discipline Policy regarding expectations and consequences.
