Sophomore Year
Students must earn a minimum of 220 credits in required courses to graduate.
For every class that you pass with a D- or higher, you will earn 5 credits per semester.
During sophomore year, students will take a minimum of 6 classes.
If you have passed all courses during 9th and pass all courses for 10th grade, you will end 10th grade with a total of120 credits.
Continue aiming for A and B grades - college admission representatives will be taking a close look!
Colleges/Universities only accept "C-" or better grades, which means that if you earn a "D" grade you will need to re-take the class for a better grade.
Review the Course Catalog and talk to your counselor to help you choose classes for 11th grade.
Introduce yourself to the college representatives that visit your campus, even if you think that you may not want to go there.
Look for Scholarships! There is tons of money sitting, waiting for you to claim it!
If you took AP courses, take the AP exams. Colleges will not be disappointed or penalize you if you get a score of 1 or 2. But if you take an AP course, they will wonder why you did not take the test.
