SCULPTURE (year) Level: 10, 11, 12 - Prerequisites: Year 1 Visual Arts course. This course offers the student the opportunity to create three- dimensional art forms utilizing the additive (clay, plaster, metal, paper) subtractive (carving, gouging in plaster and wood), and casting techniques. The student will learn some historical aspects of sculpture and learn how to evaluate their work and work of well known sculptors.
The student will learn about the cultural and historical background of sculpture and to evaluate and appreciate sculpture of their own and the work of other artists.
This course satisfies the East Side Union High School District's Fine Arts/Foreign Language requirement. This course satisfies the Fine Arts requirement at California State University. This course satisfies the "F" requirement at University of California.
