This project will help acquaint you with the DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) camera. You will learn basic camera handling and operation and be introduced to what a DSLR can do and what it cannot.
This worksheet will assist you in learning how to use your digital camera and understand its limitations.
PROCEDURES:
Turn your camera on.
Delete all images from the memory card.
Set the ISO to 200 (This may changed based on the lighting at the time of shooting).
Expose each frame as described below.
SHOOTING: All pictures are to be shot using the cameras built in light meter and the MANUAL EXPOSURE MODE (M).
FRAME #1 - Photograph a scene of your choice using the f/stop and shutter speed recommended by the camera.
FRAME #2 - Using the SAME ISO as FRAME #1. Photograph the SAME SCENE as FRAME #1, but OVEREXPOSE by 2 STOPS.
FRAME #3 - Using the SAME ISO as FRAME #1. Photograph the SAME SCENE as FRAME #1, but UNDEREXPOSE by 2 STOPS.
FRAME #4 – Photograph a person 8 feet from the camera using FRONT Lighting. FOCUS ON YOUR SUBJECT's FACE.
FRAME #5 – Photograph SAME PERSON as FRAME #4, 8 feet from the camera, use SIDE Lighting. FOCUS ON YOUR SUBJECT's FACE.
FRAME #6 – Photograph SAME PERSON as FRAME #5, 8 feet from the camera, use BACK Lighting. FOCUS ON YOUR SUBJECT's FACE.
FRAME #7 – Photograph a person 6 feet from the camera. FRONT Lighting. Use f/ ? @ 1/125seconds.
FRAME #8 - Photograph the same person as Frame #7 approximately 6 feet from the camera. FRONT Lighting. FOCUS ON THE BACKGROUND.
FRAME #9 – Photograph a person approximately 10 feet in front of the camera. Person should be jumping up and down and moving arms rapidly. USE SHUTTER SPEED 1/30 second. (May need to have your subject stand in shade).
FRAME #10 – Photograph the same person as frame 9 approximately 10 feet in front of the camera. Person should be jumping up and down and moving arms rapidly. USE A SHUTTER SPEED OF 1/250 second. (May need to have your subject stand in the sun).
POST PROCESSING:
Remove the SD card from your camera and insert into the computers SD card reader.
CREATE a file titled "GAWYDC" on your SCHOOL SERVER ACCOUNT.
DOWNLOAD your images from your card to the file you created on your server account.
