The Photography Department of Piedmont Hills is dedicated to providing meaningful engaging lessons that are standards based.
Throughout every lesson students will learn about photographers and the art of photography (Artistic Perception), create photographs that are meaningful to them and reflective of their lives (Creative Expression), discuss and evaluate their photographs, the photographs of their peers, and recognized photographers (Asthetic Valuing), learn about the history of a particular photographer or group, techniques; as well as, social concerns of the times (Historical Connections), and finally students will learn to relate their understanding of the medium and concepts to their own lives (Connections).
It is through these standards that specific goals and objectives are set for students and then evaluated to further improve student performance, understanding, success, and teaching methodology.
