Keynote speakers
The 2026 Annual Meeting of the Commodity and Energy Markets Association (CEMA) will be held at ESSEC Business School on June 15–16, 2026. The conference follows a series of CEMA meetings, the first of which was held in Paris in 2016, and a longer sequence of events organized by Álvaro Cartea and Andrea Roncoroni devoted to Energy and Commodity Finance, beginning with a meeting in London in 2004. These include conferences in Oxford (2017), Rome (2018), Pittsburgh (2019), Madrid (2020–21, online), Chicago (2022), Budapest (2023), Boston (2024), and Houston (2025). Complete information about CEMA is available at www.cem-a.org.
Scope and Themes of CEMA 2026
The CEMA Annual Meeting is the worldwide benchmark among academic conferences in the energy and commodity space. It gathers researchers and practitioners engaged in the theory and application of economics, finance, mathematics, operations, and risk management to the markets of energy and commodity sourcing, processing, and trading, as well as all related services. In addition to welcoming contributions across these areas, the 2026 Annual Meeting will place special emphasis on issues pertaining to resilience and sustainability in the face of global challenges experienced by market participants at all levels. A number of featured sessions will address specific topics of high relevance for both academic research and industry practices.
