The 2026 Annual Meeting of the Commodity and Energy Markets Association (CEMA) will be held at ESSEC Business School on June 15–16, 2026. The conference follows a series of CEMA meetings, the first of which was held in Paris in 2016, and a longer sequence of events organized by Álvaro Cartea and Andrea Roncoroni devoted to Energy and Commodity Finance, beginning with a meeting in London in 2004. These include conferences in Oxford (2017), Rome (2018), Pittsburgh (2019), Madrid (2020–21, online), Chicago (2022), Budapest (2023), Boston (2024), and Houston (2025). Complete information about CEMA is available at www.cem-a.org.
Scope and Themes of CEMA 2026
The CEMA Annual Meeting is the leading global conference in the energy and commodity domain. It brings together researchers and practitioners working at the intersection of economics, finance, mathematics, operations, and risk management, with applications to energy and commodity sourcing, processing, trading, and related services. Contributions across all these areas are welcome. The 2026 Annual Meeting will place particular emphasis on themes related to financial and operational risk analysis, decision making, and optimization for sustainable ecosystems, a broad and timely topic of great significance in today’s economic, geopolitical, and supply chain environment. Several featured sessions will focus on issues of high relevance to both academic research and industry practice.
