Coordinated Recruitment and Enrollment - The Washington State Legislature has tasked the Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) to partner with the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) to expand equitable access to early learning programs for families seeking early care and education. Joint efforts by the two agencies will create resources to support families and providers, as well as link providers to technical assistance.
Child Care Aware of Washington is dedicated to ensuring that every child in Washington state has access to high-quality child care and early learning programs. When child care is affordable, accessible and culturally responsive, the benefits are clear: children experience better long-term cognitive and developmental outcomes, and parents are able to participate in the workforce and thrive economically. This has a direct impact on the economy overall.
Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) is Washington's pre-kindergarten program that prepares 3- and 4-year-old children from families furthest from opportunity for success in school and in life. The Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) oversees the program.
DCYF Inclusion Page - We embrace equity as a foundation of and driving force behind our work by listening to and learning from families, contractor staff, and communities. Driven by this commitment, we develop and revise systems, policies, and practices, with the goal of eliminating disparities and transforming lives.
