Biography

Enthusiastic Physical Education teacher with decades of experience helping students to value physical activity, while contributing to the total growth and development of each child mainly through movement experiences. Mauro graduated from Gama Filho University in 1989 and then taught Physical Education  at schools in the municipality of Miguel Pereira from 1990 to 2007. He went on to earn a postgraduate degree in education from PUC/RJ and attended a master's degree in school administration and management from Universidade Aberta de Lisboa. He taught for several years at Os Batutinhas and other schools in Rio de Janeiro before coming to work at Eleva school in 2018.

Mauro has a daughter and although balancing family and a career may be tough sometimes he believes that finding time for yourself and your health is very important, and a great example for family.

Biography

Fabio is a highly motivated teacher with excellent multi cultural experience. Qualified PE Teacher adept with a large experience with Lower, Middle and Upper school students to improve health and wellness. Committed to improving student performance and understanding of health concepts. 

Fabio graduated with a full degree in Physical Education from State University of Rio de Janeiro in 2005. He also has courses in CPR and First Aid certified, Team training, Team sports, Weight training, also has German diploma.

He taught for 12 years at American School of Rio de Janeiro (EARJ) from 2007 to 2019, and in 2019 starts working at Eleva school. He works with students from all grades and also coached teams of futsal, soccer and volleyball for boys and girls in Middle and High School.

He believes that Sport is not only about physical activity but also a way of life, and that organized sports play a big part in character development, transforming and building better human beings.

Biography

Enthusiastic physical education (PE) teacher graduated from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and holding a postgraduate degree from Candido Mendes University, she has a long experience with Dance, ever since she graduated from Dalal Achar, dedicating everything she had learnt to coordinating a social project " Dançando para Educar" for an NGO in Vidigal for ten years. She believed improving movement awareness of those children would help them develop their understanding of the importance of exercising in order to maintain their health and to have fun along the way.

Biography

Isabela Pedrosa, has been a dancer since she was little, loves to stay upside down and help children develop their potential to be active, healthy and happy. Graduated in Dance in 2002 by Univercidade, RJ. She has been teaching dance classes in schools since then. Graduated in Hatha Yoga and Psychomotricity method Aucouturier. She is also a Yoga teacher for children and adults, developed a method where she combines her experience with dance, pilates and Yoga.

Isabela Pedrosa is also Miguel and Marina's Mother, she loves to surf,  sports in nature and travel.

Biography

Rodrigo is the physical education teacher assistant and the martial arts teacher for the upper school. He loves to be at the court and at the mats helping the students to achieve their goals.

He has been working here at Escola Eleva since 2017 as a Jiujitsu teacher for the after school program and was incorporated to the PE Team in 2019. Rodrigo has a degree in physical education from Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ) and is also a 2nd Dan Judo black belt with 9 years of experience teaching judo and Brazilian Jiujitsu.

Biography

Marcelo Barros is a  Physical Education Teacher, graduated from the Centro Universitário da Cidade, in 2003. He works with Prof. Orlando Cani since 2001, with whom he specialized in the Bioginastic and Hatha Yoga method. Since 2004, he teaches Yoga classes to renowned gym networks in Rio de Janeiro, such as Proforma, Espaço Nirvana, and Deborah Colker Movement Center.

Sports practitioner, the student of the movement, and passionate about the profession, often participate in congresses and courses on the concept of fitness, well-being, and holistic practices. 

His mission is to empower the Eleva Community with yoga-inspired exercises to promote lifetime wellness, develop body-mind awareness, and the ability to nurture one's own well-being.

Biography

Graduated in Physical Education from Universidade Estácio de Sá in 2021, Danielle recognizes the importance and effects of physical activity to students of all grades.  She speaks advanced English after graduating from Cultura Inglesa in 2017. 

As Danielle was a swimming athlete for many years, she knows that a healthy active lifestyle can be achieved by anyone. It all depends on having a teacher with knowledge, enthusiasm and patience to guide students.

Iago is a passionate professional with a diverse sports background, spanning from his 10+ years of experience in capoeira, earning himself an instructor position, to his former experiences as Futsal and Society Soccer player, Assistant Coach and Head Coach.

Former Law student, he found in Physical Education a path to improve and impact directly the life of countless children, and this is his driving force. He also coordinated for 3 years the social project "Esporte Clube Riachuelo", whose goal was to provide opportunities in sports for lower income kids.

Iago is currently a Physical Education student in Rio de Janeiro State University and has been working at Eleva School since 2021.
