Competitive Sports

About Competitive Sports

In Eleva Botafogo, every student has the opportunity to take part in a physical activity on a regular basis, and to become active, self-confident and competent. Through competitive sports, our students explore and learn essential concepts such as fellowship, fair-play, teamwork, leadership, organisation, resilience and respect. We aim to provide students with the necessary tools to autonomously participate in sporting activities throughout their lives.

When and Where

From kindergarten 5 to 12th grade in addition to regular physical education classes, students have once a week an hour of sports or dance. Classes take place within the regular schedule. For Lower school students, the activities take place at school and for upper school students at the Botafogo Futebol e Regatas club

How

The students will be able to interact with peers from other classes of the same grade level. From K5 to 3rd grade, three classes have competitive sports and dance at the same time and students are divided in groups by their teachers. From the 4th to 12th grade all classes from a specific grade level will practice at the same time and students will choose in which activity they want to participate in for that semester.
