In Breakout Rooms:
Each person takes a turn sharing their notes from the article. Use the quadrants to take notes based on group members comments
Once everyone has shared their notes, discuss key takeaways and ideas.
Complete the independent summary; compare with your original notes.
Decide upon group member to share with whole group if selected
Introduce the vocabulary word and the map to the students.
Place the target word in the central box.
Ask students to suggest words or phrases to put in the other boxes which answer the following questions: "What is it?" "What is it like?" and "What are some examples?" Use color-coded stickies.
Encourage students to use synonyms, antonyms, and a picture to help illustrate the new target word or concept.
