What is our goal?
When districts partner with Region 7 Esports, our goal is to create engaging, structured competitive gaming opportunities that bring students together to compete, connect, and grow. Through seasonal tournaments, inclusive events, and live-streamed competitions, students develop teamwork, communication, strategic thinking, and digital citizenship skills in a supportive environment. Our Digital Learning team also provides training, setup guidance, and ongoing support to help campuses successfully launch and sustain esports programs.
Impact Story:
At a recent Region 7 esports tournament, Longview ISD’s team demonstrated that success goes far beyond winning matches. While they competed at a high level, what truly stood out was their character. During one match, a Longview player patiently waited as a neurodivergent competitor took the time needed to get ready. When the student was set, the Longview player offered an encouraging thumbs up before the match began, and afterward, both students shook hands in a moment of genuine respect. This interaction captured the true impact of esports—building inclusive environments where empathy, sportsmanship, and community matter just as much as competition.
Quotes from participants:
"Region 7 Esports has truly been a pioneer in getting competitive gaming off the ground for schools in our area. Their commitment to growth is evident through the multiple tournaments they host each year for both junior high and high school students. What stands out most is their willingness to adapt—continually refining each event to better meet the needs of students and programs. Beyond competition, Region 7 creates valuable opportunities for coaches and schools to connect, collaborate, and strengthen esports programs across the region."
- Melissa Hallmark, Head Coach, Brownsboro ISD esports
"The esports events Region 7 hosts have been a blessing to me and my program. The opportunities it provides students to represent their schools in their own way is beneficial and crucial to their development. It has provided me great opportunities to recruit students who seek a path to college through esports. I have always said there are diamonds in the rough in east Texas, they just don’t know how to be seen in the esports world. My mission is to help them continue that process with academics and Region 7 has been instrumental in helping me reach those students. "
