The state has secured a partnership for a free two-year license to Schoology for interested districts in Texas. You find more on https://texashomelearning.org/. This is not at all a requirement and districts can use any LMS that meets their needs. This would be a local decision.
Is there any new information about EL Testing in a virtual format?
Starting on August 17th, school districts will have the option to do remote testing for English learners for identification.
See attached announcement from Data Recognition Corporation (DRC) which is our statewide vendor for identification.
Due to the pandemic we are also using the same assessment for reclassifying English learners for the 2019-2020 school year.
Please refer districts to the Texas Dedicated DRC webpage: https://laslinks.com/Texas/

DIRECTOR'S Meeting
If a district is not delivering instruction in their buildings but is instead operating in an alternative or distant learning capacity (“Closed, Instructing” per other agency guidance), administration of an EOY would not be expected/required.
If a district is unable to administer the EOY SPM due to COVID-19, this would be taken into consideration when reviewing data and providing support.
UPDATE: K-2 Diagnostics

Currently Reading Academies activities are remote and proceeding as planned. We will continue to assess and address timelines on a weekly basis.
What are the physical activity requirements for students in grades Pre K-5?
The TEC §28.002(l) requires students enrolled in full-day prekindergarten, in kindergarten, or in a grade level below grade six to participate in moderate or vigorous daily physical activity for at least 30 minutes throughout the school year as part of the district's physical education curriculum or through structured activity during a school campus's daily recess.
To the extent practicable, a school district shall require a student enrolled in prekindergarten on less than a full-day basis to participate in the same type and amount of physical activity as a student enrolled in full-day prekindergarten.
If a school district determines, for any particular grade level below grade six, that requiring moderate or vigorous daily physical activity is impractical due to scheduling concerns or other factors, the district may as an alternative require a student in that grade level to participate in moderate or vigorous physical activity for at least 135 minutes (27 per day) during each school week.
The 2018-2019 prekindergarten enrollment reports have published on TPEIR.
