What is a Peer Mentor?- An upperclassmen student who has been trained to mentor younger students and provide social/emotional support through weekly one-on-one meetings, discuss good study habits, help with school functions, assist with Academy questions, and work with the counselors. Peer Mentors will work with freshmen to promote self-confidence, problem-solving skills, and encourage academic and social success. Peer Mentors are an integral part of creating high school success in young students and a philosophy of helping at ERA.
Credit: This will be elective credit.
We will only be accepting 8-10 students to be peer mentors.
You should consider applying if you:
● are currently a Sophomore or Junior
● enjoy helping younger students
● have a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.5
● are a good listener and can keep confidences
● have a good handle on your own emotions
● are mature and responsible
