CLOTHING AND UNIFORM – DRESSING FOR EXCELLENCE

Please note that branded uniform items are available online from Schoolwear Made Easy.  You do not have to purchase branded items for your child - plain polo shirts, sweatshirts, cardigans etc. can be bought in most supermarkets.

School ties are available to purchase from the school office.

Children attending our Gaelic provision wear the same basic uniform with an alternative tie and school badge.

Our colours at Thornliebank are black and gold/yellow.

Pupils in Primary 1-5 and Gaelic Clas 1-4 are encouraged to wear:

• black skirt or trousers 

• black/yellow polo shirt or white shirt with the school tie  

• black sweatshirt, jumper or cardigan

• black school shoes

Pupils in Primaries 6 & 7 are encouraged to wear: 

• black skirt or trousers 

• white shirt with the school tie

• black jumper or cardigan

• black school shoes

All items of clothing should be clearly labelled with the child’s name or initials.

On PE days, children should come into school wearing their PE kit:

• black shorts/joggers/leggings

• black/yellow/white t-shirt or polo shirt

• black sweatshirt or hoodie

• appropriate footwear for indoor or outdoor PE

All jewellery should be removed before gym.

Items of clothing displaying football colours or inappropriate slogans or adverts are not permitted.

Items of jewellery that are liable to cause injury if caught or torn such as hoop, dangling or large earrings (small plain stud or sleeper earrings only should be worn in school) or large necklaces and rings should not be worn in school.
