Calculating Area
Today we were learning how to calculate the area of shapes by counting squares and half squares. We also learned how to use the term square centimetres.
Square Centimetres = cm2
As a challenge we drew our initials as shapes and counted them, some letters were very tricky!

Term 2 Rebound games - Table Tennis
We are improving our serve and respond skills every week. We are learning and using the rules of the game as well.
We used magnetic letters and play dough to practise our spellings. #ActiveSpelling
As part of our Bounce Back programme of lessons on resilience and wellbeing we were looking at cheating and why people cheat.
We played some drama games that people were tempted to cheat during and then role-played different cheat scenarios.
We came to the conclusion during our class discussions that is it is better to achieve goals through honesty. We only feel real pride when we don't cheat.
Some of us used magnetic letters to practise our spelling rule, while others wrote a silly story with them. #ActiveSpelling
We personalised and designed our Table Tennis balls before using them to serve and receive during P.E.#Reboundgames!
We have been learning to display our data in a variety of ways. Today we learned how to put our data into a Spreadsheet using Googles Sheets, we then created bar graphs, pie charts and even doughnut charts!
We had fun exploring the different types of charts and and choosing the appropriate one to display our information.
If you would like to see our finished charts they are in our google account. Click Waffle - Sheets.
We have been making paper pizzas, chocolate bars, cookies, gold bars and using these to represent fractions of a whole.
