Basketball
Today we practised our throwing and catching skills in basketball. We are learning how to do an over-head pass for longer distances.
We have been exploring what kindness is and filling up each other's 'cups' by giving and receiving compliments.
"I am funny"
"I have great hair"
Today we went outside and used chalk drawings to help us understand directions. We learned how to make quarter turns and directed our partner in a clockwise and anticlockwise direction.
Well done to our Bonnyton house winners.
They had a great time playing outdoor games and even had a sneaky hot chocolate!
Who will win next time?
The Jeely Piece
Today we were learning Scottish history about the tenement slums of Glasgow and how many were replaced by skyscraper flats in the 1960s. We made our own skyscraper designs and models out of Lego. We also translated some verses of the Jeely Piece Song.
Can you have a go?
I'm a skyscraper wean, I live on the nineteenth flair,
But I'm no gaun oot to play any mair,
Since we moved to oor new hoose, I'm wasting away,
'Cause I'm getting one less meal every day.
O ye cannae fling pieces oot a twenty-story flat,
Seven-hundred hungry weans will testify tae that,
If it's butter, cheese or jeely, if the breid is plain or pan,
The odds against it reaching earth are ninety-nine tae wan!
Have a look at out invitation cards! We used a big bold title, colourful image and persuative language to persuade our readers. Hope to see you on the 28th February @2pm! Don't miss out!
