Spring Time in Maidenhill Nursery

We have enjoyed some lovely weather over the last few weeks which has enabled us to have even more time outdoors and encouraged amazing conversations around nature, spring, flowers, insects and so much more. 

We have been extremely busy creating bee hives, painting flowers, planting sunflowers, dissecting dandelions, labelling our honey pots to sell in our honey shop just to name a few of the wonderful experiences we have explored indoors and outdoors.

Digital Technologies and using the Bee-Bots

The children have been exploring the language we use to describe direction when using various digital technologies in the nursery. We have been lucky to have the opportunity to use Bee-Bots, remote control cars and cats to navigate with appropriate instructions and directions. 

This learning has promoted spatial awareness and encouraged children to think creatively to problem solve when using maps and making obstacle courses.  They are developing their language skills when expressing their ideas and giving instructions to their peers.
