2025-2026
At the beginning of next term in August, we will host an equalities meeting to focus on specific improvement areas in school. We look forward to some parents/ carers being part of these improvement groups to support us. Please let us know if you can help us with any of these specific areas. You need no prior experience, and anyone wishing to participate would be warmly welcomed!
If you can help us with our school improvement in this area, please complete our volunteer form by clicking the blue button on the left.
During the 2025–2026 school year, our Parent Council played a key role in supporting and organising a range of wonderful family and cultural events. These events were very well attended and provided valuable opportunities for families to come together, celebrate diversity, and strengthen our school community. It was fantastic to see so many families taking part and sharing in these special occasions. A selection of photographs from these events can be viewed below;
We really enjoyed learning more about Diwali and experiencing the lights, colours, music and culture of the evening.
In October, we celebrated Diwali. We are so thankful to the families who planned and hosted this event. During this celebration, we watched amazing dancers, experienced delicious food and the children presented to an audience about the importance of Diwali as a festival.
We were so grateful to the families who planned and hosted our Eid Event.
During the celebrations, we ate delicious food, listened to wonderful music and learned all about Ramadan and Eid as the children presented.
As part of this celebration, there was also some fundraising for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. Families donated toys, books and gifts and also some money through Go Fund Me. In total, £331 was raised.
Giving to charity is one of the core pillars of Islam, with a focused significance during the holy month of Ramadan.
2024-2025
Last year, we celebrated culture, diversity and heritage week in May. We had many volunteers and visitors across the school community that helped to make this week a huge success. We were so thankful to them all. We have already started planning this event for 2025; we will celebrate this on the 7th, 8th and 9th of May. Please look out for a self-evaluation form and volunteer link in January; this will help us to improve this planned event and ensure we include the views of the children and our families. Our next planning meeting will take place in February 2025. We are so looking forward to celebrating the diversity of our school community together again.
