RIMEA Jr. All-State Audition info

The Rhode Island Music Education Association (RIMEA) offers two different all-state opportunities for our Martin Middle School students: Jr. All-State Chorus for students in grades 7 and 8, and Elementary All-State Chorus for students in grade 6.

These are wonderful opportunities for students to audition and sing with other excellent music students from all over Rhode Island.

All-State Auditions

*** PLEASE fill out the interest form here ***

Deadline to register: Friday, October 10th
- Fee: Audition fee is $25 (non-refundable); Please make checks payable to Martin Middle School
- Submit registration form and check to Mr. Rappa by October 10th.
Audition Date: Saturday, November 15, 2025 @ Ponaganset HS

If you're accepted, the All-State participation fee is $90. (non-refundable)

In case you may get lost, plan to arrive 30 minutes before your audition time to be comfortably early!

* Please check the dates of all rehearsals and the performance carefully, as you are not allowed to miss any rehearsal or you cannot perform in the concert. Here are the dates

What to do if you're accepted

Once accepted, you must go to the RIMEA website, submit your All-State Student Contract, print a copy and send in a check for $90 payable to MMS Chorus as soon as possible. When filling out the form online, please enter Edward R. Martin Middle School as the official school name.

Carefully check the rehearsal and performance dates to make sure that you can make all of them, as there is a 100% attendance policy. T-shirts and lunch will be included for you, so make your selections. Of course, you can always bring your own lunch, too.

Make sure that you select the correct ensemble when submitting your contract.

Congratulations on being accepted to be members of this year's Rhode Island Junior All-State Chorus!

I want to express how proud I am of all of you for auditioning, along with over nearly 1,300 of RI’s best music students, for the Rhode Island Junior All-State Chorus, Band and Orchestra last weekend.

It’s a challenging audition and an honor to be accepted into these ensembles, so I hope you feel a great sense of accomplishment! It's also an especially brave thing to do!
