GRADING
All performances are mandatory and count for a grade.
Only students who miss a performance with a legitimate written excuse (family emergency or personal tragedy) may make up the grade with extra work.
Students who are unprepared or display poor conduct or character in class may not be permitted to perform.
Students with a chorus grade of an 80 or below suggest that they are not ready to perform and may not be permitted without permission from Mr. Rappa.
TICKETS
Tickets can be purchased in advance through Mr. Rappa. We recommend this to avoid long lines and be able to get preferred seating.
All tickets are $5 each, and children under 5 years old are free of charge.
We accept cash or checks payable to Martin Middle School Chorus.
ARRIVAL TIMES
All students should arrive at the East Providence High School Auditorium at 6:00 pm prior to our 7 pm concert. Students can be dropped off at the chorus room door, which can be found on the map below. Parents may only park in the lot on the right side of the building, as basketball games are taking place on the left side.
ALWAYS REMEMBER TO EAT DINNER AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER BEFORE A PERFORMANCE!
IMPORTANT!
Cologne, perfume or overly scented lotions or hair spray are NOT ALLOWED on stage. You will NOT be allowed to perform if your scent will interfere with other students ability to breathe. However, deodorant is ok!
Long hair should be pulled back and not in front of your face. The audience should be able to see your expressions! Pony tails are ideal, but you can use another style based on your hair length and style, as long as it's not covering your face.
6TH GRADE CHORUS
All students must wear our blue chorus polo shirt, black pants or black skirt w/black leggings and completely black shoes or sneakers. Students should wear black socks if black shoes are unavailable. It really does work!
7th & 8th GRADE CHORUS
The MMS chorus provides dresses or tuxedo jackets and bow ties.
Students may also wear a navy blue shirt and black pants/leggings if a chorus dress isn't available or preferred.
Students wearing jackets and bow ties should wear black pants and a white collared shirt.
Completely black shoes or BLACK SOCKS!
