The Early Learning Center is a half day preschool program, providing an AM or PM session, that is committed to providing children and their families with a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment that aligns with the child’s individual, developmental needs. Our classrooms are structured to accommodate all children, including English language learners as well as children with varying needs and abilities. The program philosophy is relative to curriculum, assessment, differentiated instruction and family engagement. Students participating in this specialized program are between the ages of 3 and 5 and are placed into classrooms based on their individual needs determined by an evaluation team process.
The curriculum is aligned with the Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards (RIELDS) and is implemented using research-based approaches. Classrooms are thoughtfully arranged to support various learning centers, including literacy, science, art, math, dramatic play, and sensory activities. Family engagement is a core component of the program, recognizing that children benefit when their learning experiences are supported both in the classroom and at home. These classrooms provide a nurturing environment where children can develop essential skills and a love for learning, preparing them for success in kindergarten and beyond
