Songs in the major key have a happy feeling to them. These songs are based on the major scale from low Do to high Do. Major songs usually sound happy, sunny, or stable.

Minor
Songs in the minor key usually have a sad or spooky feeling to them. These songs are based on the minor scale, which also starts and ends on Do.

What you will need:

Write the numbers 1 to 10 on a piece of paper, going down the page. Watch this youtube video. It will play different short musical clips which will either be major or minor. Write down whether you think each clip is major or minor. Try to do them all before looking at the answer sheet provided below. See how many you can get right!
